Fractional leadership / UNSWAYD Consulting

Senior commercial leadership, without the full-time hire.

Part-time or contract. Embedded and defined. A couple of days a week or a set term, with a clear role. Experience built inside rights holders, agencies, clubs and major events, working as part of your team.

What fractional means

Senior without the salary.

Fractional leadership is becoming more common in Australia. In plain terms, you get an experienced leader inside your business on a part-time or contract basis, for as long as the work needs it.

Part-time or contract

A set number of days a week, or a set term. You pay for the time the role needs, not a full-time package.

Embedded

Inside the team, in the meetings and owning outcomes. Not a report delivered from the outside.

Defined

Scope, authority, time commitment and term agreed before day one, then reviewed as the work moves.

While you hire

Keep a key role moving and the team steady while the permanent search runs.

Before you hire

Get senior capability now, before the revenue or the structure justifies a full-time role.

Through change

A restructure, a new season, a new market or a leadership gap that needs experienced hands for a set period.

The value of an independent ally is not distance from the situation. It is clarity within it.

Ways to work together

Three ways in. Each defined from day one.

Every engagement sets out scope, authority, outputs and responsibilities before the work starts.

01 / Embedded capacity

Fractional Leadership

Senior capability embedded for an agreed period, function or priority without requiring a permanent senior hire. Defined around scope, responsibility, time commitment and decision authority.

Best when there is a leadership gap, a transition or a priority that needs an experienced owner now.

Talk through a priority
02 / Leaders and teams

Workshops & Programs

Facilitated workshops and group programs for leadership teams and staff, built on the C3 framework: Compete, Convert, Capitalise. A shared language for what shows up under pressure, and a trained response the team can repeat.

Best when a team is carrying real pressure and needs to perform through it, together. Run as a single workshop or a group program for leadership teams, tailored to your organisation.

03 / Defined scope

Consulting Projects

Defined work around a commercial, organisational or delivery problem. From commercial and growth strategy to partnerships, operating models, major events and cross-functional delivery.

Best when the problem is clear enough to scope and needs senior thinking and hands to move it.

Experience behind the perspective

From inside the team and around the leadership table.

Aiden Blizzard brings more than twenty years of collective experience across elite competition, high performance, commercial strategy, partnerships, growth, fan engagement and major-event delivery.

His career has taken him inside rights holders, governing bodies, clubs, teams, and sport and entertainment agencies across Australia and international markets. It began with 14 years as a professional cricketer and continued through senior leadership roles carrying responsibility for people, performance, commercial outcomes and complex cross-functional delivery.

He has experienced leadership decisions as the athlete expected to execute them, then made and delivered those decisions as the leader accountable for the outcome. That gives him a practical view of how strategy, people and delivery connect, and where that connection starts to break down.

Fractional, explained

Questions people ask first.

What is fractional leadership?

An experienced leader working inside your business on a part-time or contract basis, for as long as the work needs it. Scope, authority, time commitment and term are agreed before day one.

How much time does it involve?

Usually a couple of days a week, or a set term. It is agreed up front and reviewed as the work moves.

Which roles does Aiden step into?

Fractional or interim GM, commercial director, partnerships and growth lead, fan engagement and major events lead, and high performance lead.

Is it only for sport?

No. Most of Aiden's experience sits with rights holders, agencies, leagues, clubs and venues, and the same work applies to brands and businesses outside sport.

How is it priced?

Each engagement is quoted to the days, term and scope of the role.

Where does the work happen?

Aiden is based in Bali and works with organisations in Australia and internationally.

How do the workshops fit in?

A team workshop or group program is often the first piece of work together. Each one stands on its own, and each can lead to fractional support.
